Rachid was recommended to us by some friends and we are so glad that we were able to do the three day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga, to Fes with him! The evening and overnight stay in the Sahara Desert was absolutely amazing and unforgettable. The food and accommodation there exceeded our expectations. Rachid made sure to safely drop us off at our Riad in Fes and communicated with the staff there himself to ensure we had a smooth transition. Even after our tour with Rachid ended, he told us to keep in contact and just send him a message with any questions we have on the rest of our trip. Rachid gave us great advice and tips that we used during the remainder of our trip. He was later able to give us a contact in Fes to guide us to the tannery. We arrived in Marrakech and Rachid picked us up at the airport and took us to the Riad. The Riad was very beautiful and everyone was very kind. Our guide took care of all the details of the reservation and the organization of the city tour. He showed us the old city and the new city, telling us the history of Marrakech and their customs. We spent the night in the desert, which I recommend because it is a unique experience. Marrakech is a beautiful city and with Rachid's guidance it was even more exciting.

Just back from our family trip to Morocco and wanted to express our sincere thanks to Rachid and Morocco Vacation Tours for an amazing time in this beautiful, friendly and fascinating country. As we had not been to North Africa before I wanted to ensure we had the best guidance to make the most of this vacation. After much research I chose Moroccco Vacation tours following so many 5 star reviews and am really pleased with our choice. While Rachid caters for longer tours, we had limited time and so the 3 day, 2 night trip from Marrakech to the Sahara was ideal for our party of 5. I was very impressed by Rachid’s responsiveness to my requests for additional information on the trip and felt well prepared before we arrived in Morocco. On day 1 Rachid collected us early and took us on an informative and enjoyable trip to the Dades Valley, via the beautiful snow covered Atlas mountains, visiting an Argan Oil women’s co-operative and stopping off for lunch at Ait Ben Hadoud, a stunning location where Gladiator and Thrones had scenes filmed. The hotel had stunning views and the next day we visited Todra Gorge and a traditional carpet weaver on the way to the Sahara which was the absolute highlight of our vacation. Rachid is Amazigh (Berber) and took us past the house he was born in Merzouga (gateway to the Sahara) and as such was able to provide a lot of insight to the history and culture of the Country and region. The camel ride across the desert was great fun and the camels looked to be very well cared for and well-treated. The Sunset was amazing and it was a really special experience for the whole family. After some sandboarding for the younger members of our party we went to the Tent camp and had a great evening with great food and entertainment by the local team and the star gazing was really special too. It was a 9-hour trip back to Marrakech but the rugged scenery and beauty of the Anti-Atlas and Atlas mountains was breath-taking and the journey was well worth it. Rachid took plenty of breaks for photos and comfort and was very informative along the way. It is clear the Moroccan authorities take tourist and road safety very seriously as we saw many police checkpoints and were stopped a few times to check Rachid had all the correct permits for transporting tourists (they even checked the expiry dates on the contents of his first aid kit!). Thanks Rachid for an amazing time and we would love to come back to see other parts of Morocco and I would be very happy for you to be our guide again. Shukran!

Highlights were the visit to the women’s cooperative who make the rugs in the Atlas Mountains and the luxury camp night in the desert! I will be back to visit more of Morocco with Rachid.
